Where to pre-order Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Pre-order Pokemon Diamond and Pearl

Yes, we finally got it. Pokémon fans have been crying out for a remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on the DS for years, and those dreams have finally been answered after Nintendo announced Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch. Here’s where you can pre-order both ahead of their release later this year.

We’ve not heard much about these two titles since their announcement at the Pokémon Presents event back in February, and while we’re still waiting on a release date, it hasn’t stopped retailers from getting their Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl pre-orders live.

If you’re just as eager to take another stroll through Sinnoh as we are, we’ve provided a list of the best places to pre-order Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in the UK and US below.

While these prices may seem more expensive than the UK pre-orders, it’s worth noting that Best Buy and Walmart price-match, so if these prices do go down any further, you won’t lose out.

A wildly diverse set of prices here. Chances are the more expensive options (especially Amazon) will likely drop in price as we get closer to the game’s release. Remember, no matter when you place your pre-order, you’ll always pay the cheapest price upon dispatch.

Will Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have special editions and pre-order bonuses?

There’s no news yet on whether the Diamond and Pearl remakes will include special or limited edition versions of the game. We wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo announced Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl pre-order bonuses closer to the release date. Pokémon Snap had region-specific pre-order bonuses such as stickers and posters, so it wouldn’t be unusual to see some Nintendo-licensed Pokémon memorabilia get included with the games.

Who’s developing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?

Tradition is being broken as Game Freak will not be developing Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as they’re busy working on Pokémon Arceus Legends. Instead, that responsibility is now with the Japanese studio, ILCA, who developed Pokémon Home.

You don’t have anything to worry about, though. Even if you don’t recognise the name, ILCA is a support studio that’s worked on some great titles including Dragon Quest XI and Nier Automata. Junichi Masada, Game Freak’s managing director, will oversee the development of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as director alongside ILCA’s Yuichi Ueda.
