The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD pre-orders are nothing new. However, with the July 16 release date approaching, extra pre-orders have arrived with exclusive merchandise. Merch varies from steelbooks to posters depending on the retailer and region.
Just to clarify: The physical copy of the game should be the same no matter where you pre-order. It’s the merch that makes the deal. After all, might as well enjoy goodies with the game if you’re going to pre-order anyway. For your convenience, we rounded up the available pre-orders with merch to help you decide where to buy.

In addition, Nintendo fans should watch for the Skyward Sword Loftwing Amiibo. The fast travel it offers makes it a convincing buy for even non-collectors. In other words, the Loftwing Amiibo might be worth it just for fast travel alone. That is, so long as you don’t mind the somewhat shady implications of locking such a quality of life enhancement behind a separate product.
Unfortunately, Loftwing Amiibos are currently sold out at most retailers. However, when they inevitably restock, they should be available at one of the sites listed on our Loftwing Amiibo pre-orders page. This exclusive figure typically sells for about £29 in the UK and $25 in the US.
Separate merch like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Cons are also available for pre-order. These royal blue handhelds should ship around at the same time as the game. Starting July 16, people should be able to buy physical copies of the game from select retailers or download the game from the Nintendo eShop.
