Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 3 expands UK and Ireland content

World Update 3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator arrives today.

This rather large, free update for Microsoft Flight Simulator contains new aerials, new DEM, 80 POIs, five airports (Barra, Liverpool, Land’s End, Manchester-Barton, and Out Skerries), two landing challenges, and will also introduce five brand-new photogrammetry cities such as Cambridge, Oxford, Birmingham, and Bristol.

In addition, architectural elements have been added throughout the region. You can expect to see British manors and Victorian homes, countryside stone structures, castles and churches, and even some drive-thru restaurants. In addition, over 70 custom landmarks and points of interest such and bridges, palaces, cathedrals, and football stadiums have been added.

You can also expect visual and logical improvements to 85 more area airports, improved digital elevation data across the UK, and a trio of new activities.

The new activities are an Iconic Flight in the Northern Isles and two Landing Challenges: one up north on the Shetland archipelago, and one in Southeast England.

World Update 3 was originally slated to arrive last week, but the team needed to add a bit of polish.

You can check out some of the landmarks and airports you will see in the update below.

Available now for PC, Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Series X/S in summer 2021.
