Genshin Impact Version 1.6 adds many new features, as well as improvements to a number of existing ones. A significant new addition to the Serenitea Pot housing system called Companion Move-In allows you to place characters in your home realm and generate Companionship EXP with them.
How to obtain Companion Move-In in Genshin Impact
To unlock the Serenitea Pot in the first place, you need to be at Adventure Rank 35 or higher and have completed both the Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III “A New Star Approaches”, and the quest “A Teapot to Call Home”.
To unlock the new Companion Move-In feature, you need to complete the new quest added with Version 1.6 called “Idle Teapot Talk”. This simple quest requires you to talk to Tubby, the teapot spirit who lives inside your portable home base.
After some expository dialogue with her, you’ll receive some Mora and Materials, as well as the Realm Dispatch quest item which unlocks the Companion Move-In interaction.
How to use Companion Move-In in Genshin Impact
Once you have the Realm Dispatch item, you can place your companion characters within the teapot realm.
A new Companion tab has been added to Design Mode, and extending an invite is as simple as selecting the character you want and placing them in the realm.
How to gain Companionship EXP and Character Gifts in the realm
When you have companions in the realm with you, they will automatically generate Companionship EXP over time. How much EXP they generate will be determined by your Adeptal Energy rank.
You can also speak with your companions while inside the realm.
To earn Character Gifts from your companions, you need to place their favourite Furnishings Set inside the realm. You can learn which characters favour a set by viewing its description in Design Mode. You need all pieces from a set in your inventory before it can be placed.
Once you place a character’s favourite Furnishings Set, they will automatically show up at its location. Interact with them and choose “Invite” to receive a Character Gift.
