Call of Duty: Warzone’s Verdansk map is now known as Verdansk 84.

Season Three has kicked off in Call of Duty: Warzone, and brings Verdansk back to 1984 with massive changes to the map that fully tie it into the story of Black Ops Cold War.

The new Warzone features massive changes, including new and reimagined locations, new gameplay options, and optimizations across the entire map as nearly every building, surface and object has been touched.

Across Black Ops Cold War, throughout Season Three players will experience new multiplayer maps and modes, the next chapter of Call of Duty Zombies in Outbreak, and plenty of new gear.

For weeks, players have fought off Zombies throughout Warzone,  and yesterday, as the Zombies horde critical mass, an in-game event triggered a nuclear blast that decimated the Warzone map.

Players were then transported to Rebirth Island, where in-game clues and hidden messages helped players unlock the remaining secrets of the event and transporting everyone to Verdansk in the year 1984.

Speaking of Verdansk, as the new Warzone experience officially launches today, you can expect 20 big changes for the map.

There’s the Gora Summit, a location that is bigger than many multiplayer maps, which is a large complex with a central island base, three gondola stations, complete with working gondolas. There is also a lower river valley to ascend on foot, vehicle, or ascender. Opposing helipads, and two command centers, one built into a rock island.

You will also see the Gora Viaduct on the map. It is a bridge that goes over the Gora River Valley. Here, you can find ascenders, drop off the bridge onto gondola roofs, or try to snipe someone thanks to the vantage point.

Alongside the above is the Verdansk Regional Airport which contains an extra exit to the Runway Underpass, two planes to use as cover, and skylights. The Control Tower also has seen a facelift.

Old Verdansk Stadium is very open compared to modern-day Stadiums and features high vantage points such as an announcer booth and the massive scoreboard. There is also an interior and an underside walkway.

Before it became a Quarry, Verdansk’s northeastern corner was known for being the region’s largest Salt Mine. This space has two large, but sealed, entrances, old conduits, and a large hillside. There are pine barrens above the salt mine and the Crystalizing Pools which are red thanks to the chemical reaction of salt.

One of the biggest changes Downtown is the Broadcast building under construction. This time, the interior is more accessible, with an interior stairwell running to the top of three unfinished floors perfect for long-range takedowns. Here, you will also find a rather tall crane with a container hanging from the arm as well as an ascender for quick access to the half-finished roof.

Some of the changes throughout Verdansk include the removal of certain obstacles along the roads such as the tanks by the Broadcast Tower. This is just one of the subtle changes which will impact the meta.

The biggest new landmark is the Grid Radar Array which is a radar base comprised of 12 linked cage towers and a gantry platform, multi-story access ladders, an ascender, and exposed views.

There’s also a dilapidated old mine, with a rocky exterior perfect for both close-quarters combat and ambushes coming from the Gora Summit. You may also notice that the interior mine complex is currently blocked off – for now.

The Superstore changes are subtle but will help the flow of the area. One of the changes is the addition of skylights on the roof, and the tops of the shelves are now accessible. There are also new exterior windows on the southwest edge.

Don’t expect the car dealership and water treatment works just east of Superstore to still remain. Back in 1984, this area was an airplane maintenance Factory. This new area features four large warehouses and an underground passage to a secondary warehouse. Attached to the biggest warehouse is a pair of chimneys and outside is a large hangar, numerous outbuildings, and plenty of climbable structures.

The TV Station looks really 1980s now, and a satellite dish on the roof will allow you to shoot from it. A pair of windows have been added to the building allowing for new access routes to and from the Buy Station.

Verdansk 84 is also much lusher with wildflowers, meadowland, and crops. This greener map will allow you to hide behind trees, in the long grass, and behind plants.

Over at the Barakett Promenade, one of the five-floor apartment complexes is under construction. Expect rows of apartment complexes to be more of an asymmetrical situation.

Verdansk also has some “retro-fitted” areas such as the Novi Grazna Hills. On this side of the map, you will find a wooded plateau with a farm smallholding. There is a tiny windmill, a barn, and a cottage, which offer new combat opportunities.

The Barakett Promenade is one of the areas where buildings have been removed. Here, the library North of the Ferris Wheel has yet to be constructed, and in its place, for now, is a recreation area. Also, the Market adjacent to the School is now a parking lot, and the entirety of the West Promenade is now a long section of park.

Changes were also made to the police and fire stations, and there’s a section of Krovnik Farmland where you will find a domed Town Hall structure. The latter is a facsimile of the map Standoff and features a fully explorable central structure.

Also, speaking of Standoff, the Gulag in Verdansk has a whole new “practice course” for an upcoming operation. Here, you will fight 1v1 duels down the “main street.”

Season Three in Warzone – Operators, Weapons, and More

In addition to a retro Verdansk, Season Three for Warzone brings additional content from Black Ops Cold War into the fold, such as brand-new weapons like the PPSh-41 SMG and Swiss K31 sniper rifle, new Operators like Perseus’ sinister soldiers Wraith and Knight, and more.
