Sprites are a key feature in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, “Demon Hunters.” Along with the titular demons (oni), you’ll find sprites and sprite shrines around the island.
Our Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 guide will tell you how to use sprites, where to find sprite shines, and how to collect boons (perks associated with sprites).
What are sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1?
Sprites are helpful (and adorable) critters in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. You’ll find them wandering around just about anywhere on the island — usually in the more wild areas away from POIs.
Picking up a sprite gives you a new throwable item. There are three kinds of sprite:
- Air Sprites (white) create an updraft when thrown
- Earth Sprites (brown) consume items in exchange for a reward
- Water Sprites (blue) create a healing fountain when thrown
Sprite shrine locations in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
Sprite shrines have also appeared and are scattered across the island. When you visit one, you can interact with it to reveal nearby sprites.
We’ve found 13 Sprite Shrines (so far), so you’ll never be far from one. The only places we haven’t found them (yet) are around Nightshift Forest and Hopeful Heights.
If you are carrying a sprite when you visit a sprite shrine, you’ll have the option to return the sprite to the sprite shrine. After the shrine powers up, it’ll drop a bunch of loot along with a boon — a pickup that grants you a perk.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 boons list
Boons are a new pickup in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. You’ll get them from defeating bosses, opening chests, or by returning sprites to sprite shrines. Boons are consumed immediately when you pick them up and grant you a bonus perk.
There are four types of boon:
- Fire Boon – You reload weapons faster
- Void Boon – Reveals nearby players after you eliminate a player
- Wind Boon – You move faster with your pickaxe equipped
- Water Boon – When swimming, you grant health and shields to yourself and any squadmates who are swimming
