What is Fortnite OG?
Fortnite OG is a new permanent game mode that will return Fortnite to its origin — seasons from Chapter 1. You’ll play on the original map, and eliminate other players using the respective season’s loot pool.
The Fortnite X account has teased the return of the Double Pump, one of the scariest weapon combos to face off against in the past.
However, Fortnite OG will not be exactly the same as how it used to be in Chapter 1. According to Shiina, Fortnite OG will feature movement options like tactical sprint, clambering, door bashing, and sliding — but it will not include any of the new Chapter 6 movement.
According to Shiina and HYPEX on X, you’ll be able to play all 10 of Fortnite’s Chapter 1 seasons in Build and No Build on a monthly schedule. It’s unclear if major events will be returning (such as Thanos with his Infinity Gauntlet in Season 4), but we will at least see the original Tilted Towers in Season 2!
Additionally, Fortnite OG will have its own battle pass, which can be seen in its entirety in an X post by Magori007.
There will be 46 total rewards, including skins, emotes, pickaxes, trails, back bling, and loading screens. Similar to the music pass and LEGO pass, this is separate purchase to the Chapter 6 Season 1 battle pass, or is included as part of the monthly Fortnite Crew subscription.
You may have noticed that the OG pass skins look a little familiar. That’s because — tying into the OG theme — they’re revamped versions of Chapter 1 skins. The Skull Trooper, Aerial Assault Trooper, and Renegade Raider get new looks in Fortnite OG. Check out how they look along with the new Raven skin in this X post from Shiina.
