Pokémon Go’s yearly New Years event for 2025 (dubbed “New Year’s 2025”) has started, taking place from Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, until Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. The event brings back Pokémon in party hats, as well as some other perks, including Timed Research.
Notably, you’ll get 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an excellent throw. The extended time bonus on Adventure Incense that began during the “Holiday Part 2” event is also continuing until Jan. 5, so take advantage of that while you can.

Is the “New Year’s 2025” paid ticket worth it? Yes, for the value alone, $2 for three raid passes and three Lucky Eggs is a great deal. You do, however, have to complete the research fully before Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. in your local time to get the rewards.
