Pokemon Go Fest 2021 is set for summer, and because Covid-19 is still very much a thing, it’s an online event that’ll occur simultaneously around the world.
This year’s Pokemon Go Fest event has been scheduled for July 17 and July 18, with developer Niantic describing this year’s festivities as a “global event.” Not too much else has been revealed about the incoming event just yet, but it sounds like something big is in the works to celebrate a significant milestone for the mobile game.
“2021 marks both the twenty-fifth anniversary of Pokemon and the fifth anniversary of Pokémon Go, so trust us when we say you won’t want to miss Pokémon Go Fest 2021!” Niantic wrote in a blog post.
Time to mark your calendars, Trainers! 🗓️
🎊 #PokemonGOFest2021 will be a two-day global event from July 17 to July 18! 🎊 We can’t wait to show you what’s in store. https://t.co/L0fcETooMj pic.twitter.com/jljTUQBE1h

The blog post announcing Pokemon Go Fest 2021 makes explicit reference to last year’s various activities, so it stands to reason Niantic will be doing something similar for 2021.
If last year’s event is going to provide a template, then, we’re going to get something similar to the Global Challenge Arena, The Feeling of Victory Special Research (which provided us with a chance to catch Victini), and more. You can check out the details on our dedicated Pokemon Go Fest 2020 guide for more information.
If you’re eager for more Pokemon Go content soon, you’re in luck; Pokemon Go will celebrate New Pokemon Snap’s release with a special event, and that’s set to kick off on April 29 10am local time and end on May 2 at 8pm local time.
In the meantime, you can check out our Pokemon Go Egg Chart for April 2021 at the link.
