Release date?
The original rumour was that only the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 would be set for a CES 2025 reveal in January, but the latest noises from the leakersphere is that the RTX 5070 might well join it out in Vegas. That said, even a January reveal would likely result in the RTX 5070 actually hitting the shelves a few months later. At best. I would be surprised to see the RTX 5070 much before March next year, which is a while to wait.
Specs?
The RTX 5070 is the card which has had the least speculation floated around the nets about it. That could be because the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 specs are closer to release and therefore closer to being finalised. What we are expecting is a far smaller GPU than the RTX 5080, and there is possibility of fewer cores than the RTX 4070 Super, and if the RTX 5080 has 16 GB GDDR7, then the RTX 5070 will have 12 GB.
Price?
The original RTX 4080 launched at a ludicrous $1,200. A price so ludicrous, in fact, that I had to just go look it up again to make sure I was remembering it right. That changed with the RTX 4080 Super after significant backlash over the first card’s pricing, and that came out at $999. Honestly, I can’t see the RTX 5080 coming out at anything above the $999 sticker price, especially not with those rumoured specs.
