CD Projekt Red has yet again stressed that Cyberpunk 2077 will make its December release date.
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red was once certain the game would not be pushed back again. But that was in September, when the action RPG had a November release date.
Of course, Cyberpunk 2077 ended up getting one more delay anyway, but CD Projekt is now fairly certain that this will be the one.
As part of a look back at the developer/publisher’s third quarter, CDPR mentioned the game’s December 10 release date multiple times throughout the document. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz likewise reiterated the same message in a video going over the quarter’s highlights, where he also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077’s marketing campaign has already kicked off, and that the main push will hit its stride soon.
It makes sense, as the developer has been recently sharing console gameplay; from Xbox One X/Series X at one point, and just this week from PS4 Pro/PS5. This is significant, of course, because the various console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 were said to be what caused the recent delay.
Elsewhere in the report, CD Projekt Red revealed that The Witcher franchise is responsible for most of its profits during the quarter, thanks mainly to continued sales of The Witcher games – including The Witcher 3 – and Thronebreaker.
