Devora Wilde has been in loads of videogames. While she’s most famous for playing Lae’zel, everyone’s hot gith girlfriend in Baldur’s Gate 3, she’s also been in games like Solasta 2, Clair Obscur, Crimson Desert, Split Fiction, and Red Solstice 2. She’s in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 as well—not that she knew about it at the time.

“I started getting comments when the game came out, ‘Oh, you’re in Space Marine 2!’ I was like, ‘No, I’m not. What is that?'” Wilde said in an interview with IGN. It was only after someone on Twitter sent her a clip of the performance that she realized it was true. “I had to go through like all my stuff, all my emails, try and match up the codename of the game with the actual game. And then in the end I realized I was in that game.”

It’s common for actors not to be told the name of games they’re working on until the last minute, if at all, for fear of leaks. When Wilde auditioned for a role in Silent Hill 2, in which she ended up performing mocap and stunts, she only twigged what game it was after thinking some of the dialogue sounded familiar then looking it up online.

Wilde played multiple roles in Space Marine 2, including a servo-skull and a Cadian soldier whose messages you find. It was a recording of the latter that convinced her she really was in Space Marine 2. “‘I was like, ‘Oh, that’s me. I’m an audio log.'”

Wilde has been in several Warhammer games and animations. She plays Tzarina Katarin Bokha in Total War: Warhammer 3, provides the Authoritarian voice option for the female Arbitrator in Darktide, and she was one of the Sisters of Battle in the Adepta Sororitas animation Penitence on Warhammer TV. “It just so happens that I’ve done a lot of Warhammer stuff,” Wilde said, “and I never realized how vast the universe is, genuinely.”
