Aliens: Fireteam Elite gets a release date: the co-op survival game is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on August 24.
The game is a three-player cooperative survival shooter set in the Alien universe – understandably – and was previously known as just Aliens: Fireteam.
The third-person movement and the moment-to-moment of the alien-repelling combat look to be similar to World War Z, if you’re wondering what the actual experience of playing the game will be like.
As per a new press release, Aliens: Fireteam Elite will offer four story-driven campaigns that you can play through, and give you customizable Colonial Marines to deploy against the Xenomorph threat. As well as newly multi-colored aliens, Cold Iron Studios also seems to be teasing that rogue Weyland Yutani androids will be on the hunt, too.
Take a look at the new trailer below.
The game is designed to be a co-op experience, but you will be able to play through the campaign solo with AI teammates if you’re more of the lone wolf type.
The game will retail at $39.99. If you’re into your more premium versions of games, there’s a deluxe edition of Aliens: Fireteam Elite that will set you back $69.99. It comes with four cosmetic DLC bundles that including class kit skins, weapon colors, and head accessories.
Deluxe Edition or not, you’ll get “free major gameplay updates” as time goes on – whether that means new campaigns and so on remains to be seen.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite arrives on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S on August 24.
