The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the cancellation of a lot of events and gatherings this year, but the 2020 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will not be among them. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’ll be the same parade known and loved. The parade is going to be only going for one block, media and spectators aren’t allowed to be outside along the parade route, and there will be more pre-recorded segments than usual.
Despite the changes, one thing you can look forward to for sure is that, for the 20th consecutive year, the Pikachu balloon will at the 2020 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But, if you think that this is going to be the usual appearance this year, think again. The Pokemon Company is teasing some kind of announcement, saying that there’s going to be “a special troupe of dancing Pikachu in the parade”, and to “tune in to find out why they’re making a special appearance this year”. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade begins this Thursday at 9am local time.
