The original Monster Hunter Stories title released back in October of 2016, and the second in the series is making its way onto Nintendo Switch next year. However, fans hoping that the first game will be released on Nintendo’s hybrid console will be disappointed to know that Capcom has no current plans to make this happen. Ryozo Tsujimoto from Capcom recently spoke with Gamereactor and said the following:
“There are no plans at the moment to bring the original Monster Hunter Stories to the Nintendo Switch”
They also explained that players new to the franchise won’t have anything to worry about as the second game titled Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will feature a a new storyline and protagonist. Tsujimoto went on to say:
“While it’s set in the same world, the game has absolutely been designed so that players can jump straight into Monster Hunter Stories 2.”
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin for Nintendo Switch is due to be released summer 2021.
