Balatro, the popular poker roguelike and Game Awards GOTY nominee, is finally getting the merch we’ve all wanted since launch day: real playing cards. Fangamer is now accepting pre-orders for its new $16 premium deck of 52 playing cards that were made in collaboration with the game’s creator, LocalThunk. The deck will launch sometime in March 2025.
The designs printed on the 52 linen-finished cards are based on the same pixelated designs that some of us have become, perhaps, a little too familiar with since the game’s launch in February (personally, I’ve spent over 50 hours playing on my PC, with more time sunk into the mobile version that recently launched.) And, because it wouldn’t be Balatro without a few of its signature jokers to spice things up, this deck includes copies of the standard Joker, Juggler, Blueprint, and Gros Michel cards. All of the cards arrive tucked away in a foil-accented box.
While this custom deck is pretty neat, many of us at Polygon wish it shipped with a more substantial collection of jokers present in the game. That said, it’s a small complaint. If you’d like to support the creator, or want more ways to show your love for this indie marvel, you can already find an impressive collection of shirts, hoodies, mugs, and even a plush of Jimbo available from the official Balatro store.
