Retailer lists Sonic Collection ahead of the compilation game’s official reveal

Sonic the Hedgehog

It looks like Sega is planning to release a new Sonic the Hedgehog compilation game called Sonic Collection, according to a listing published by a French retailer.

A new listing has been spotted on retail site Sogamely that suggests Sega is working on a new Sonic collection that’ll release in honor of the game’s 30th anniversary (thanks VGC).

The listing simply reveals that a “Sonic Collection EU version” for PlayStation 4 is in the works – there’s no cover art, release date or any more information at the time of writing.

We do already know that new Sonic the Hedgehog games are coming in 2021, as Sega wants to make Sonic’s 30th anniversary “a year of celebration” with “new games, digital content, events, major announcements and a tailored licensing programme.”

It looks like Sega is potentially remastering the 2010 Wii and DS game, Sonic Colors, to be released on PS4, Xbox One and Switch, too. So it would make sense that the publisher is also keen to put together some older titles and make 2021 a special year for the iconic mascot.

It’s worth noting that Sogamely also listed Sonic Colors Remastered, too; the retailer seems to know more about Sega’s plans than has been publically revealed.

Sega has not confirmed anything yet, so take all this with a pinch of salt for now. If you’re eager for more Sonic news, you’ll perhaps like to know that the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film seems to be following the events of Sonic 3.
