Toxel has made its global debut in Pokémon Go as part of November 2024’s “Into the Wild” event.
The Gen 8 electric- and poison-type baby has one evolution, Toxtricity, but with two different forms.
On its debut, you cannot catch Toxel nor Toxtricity in the wild, making it a harder Pokémon to seek out. Here’s how to get Toxel in Pokémon Go during the “Into the Wild” event and how to evolve it into its different forms.
How to get Toxel in Pokémon Go
Toxel released globally as part of the “Into the Wild” event. You can get one from the following sources:
- Hatching 10 km eggs obtained during the “Into the Wild” event (Nov. 18-22)
- Complete Gigantamax Toxtricity Max Battles during the “Wild Area” event (Nov. 23-24)
Despite that there is paid research as part of the “Into the Wild” event, there’s no guaranteed Toxel encounter, though buying the egg hatching-based pass does increase your chances of hatching Toxel during the event period.
How to get Toxtricity in Pokémon Go
To evolve Toxel into Toxtricity, you’ll need to use a whopping 400 Toxel Candy. In mainline Pokémon games, Toxel evolves into one of two Toxtricity forms based on its nature, but since Pokémon Go doesn’t have natures, which form of Toxtricity you’ll get is random.
To evolve Toxel into the Amped Form or Low Key Form of Toxtricity, you’ll just need to hope you get lucky and you roll the one you want. Luckily, both forms Gigantamax just the same, so you don’t have to worry too much about that.
The forms also appear to be purely cosmetic when it comes to Pokémon Go, as the two have the same movesets and base stats.
Can Toxel be shiny in Pokémon Go?
Yep, at its initial launch, Toxel debuted fully with the ability to be shiny. You’ll need to get super lucky to find one, though.
