The holiday season is in full swing, and to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, the cast of Critical Role released a new full-length holiday album. With 11 original songs, Critical Role Presents: Winter’s Crest (A Holiday Album), the holiday album features performances by the Critical Role cast as themselves and as their characters from all three of the actual plays main campaigns.

The company’s third album under Scanlan Shorthalt Music — a label named after Sam Riegel’s bard from the actual play’s first campaign, Vox MachinaWinter’s Crest brings the eponymous in-universe holiday to life. Much like the winter holidays of our world, Winter’s Crest is Tal’Dorei’s celebration of lights, feasts, and community. The holiday commemorates the alliance that defeated Errevon the Rimelord, a powerful ice elemental, ending the Icelost Years.

The tracks on the album include some titles that may sound familiar, even to those non-Critters among us, such as “Silent Mind” performed by Laura Bailey as her character Imogen from Bells Hells, “O Mighty Nein” by Liam O’Brien as Caleb Widogast, and “Deck the Bear” sung by the entire cast of Vox Machina. Other notable tracks include “Naughty & Nice,” “It’s Critmas!,” and “Twelve Days of Grogmas.” Contributors to the album include producer and instrumentalist Habib, illustrations by Adelle Kincel, and design by Nate Gonzalez and Jordyn Torrence.

Winter’s Crest is available for immediate digital purchase on all major streaming platforms. A vinyl edition is also available for preorder at scanlanshorthaltmusic.com. The standard edition costs $49.99, while a deluxe vinyl — which is signed by the cast and includes variant cover art, stickers, a postcard, and a polaroid style photo-pack — is available for $249.99. Both vinyl editions will be ready to ship in spring 2025.
