Blizzard confirms BlizzCon will return in 2026

BlizzCon, the once-annual gathering of Blizzard Entertainment fans, will return to Anaheim in 2026. Blizzard announced the convention’s return on Tuesday, stating the event will take place Sept. 12-13, 2026.

“For 2026, alongside BlizzCon staples like Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, hands-on gameplay, and more, we aim to meaningfully elevate this iconic celebration and create an unforgettable experience for all who take part in it,” Blizzard said in a statement on the official BlizzCon website. “We are building this event just like we build our games: with a deep commitment to our players, with respect for your connections to our universes, and as a celebration of the strength of the bonds formed through shared adventure.”

Next year’s BlizzCon will be the first in-person version of the event since 2023. A planned 2024 BlizzCon was scrapped, with Blizzard shifting its efforts to other in-person and online events. BlizzCon has been in flux since the gathering was canceled in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The show went digital in 2021, and was canceled again in 2022.

Blizzard did not announce which games it would focus on at BlizzCon 2026, but with a new Diablo 4 expansion due next year, continued Overwatch 2 and Hearthstone development, and still more to come from World of Warcraft’s Midnight and The Last Titan expansions still in the works, there should be plenty to talk about.
