The Fade was the brainchild of a dozen dozen conversations I’ve had with friends about why isekais are such compelling narratives,” Aabria Iyengar — actual play veteran of Dimension 20, Critical Role, and Worlds Beyond Numbertold Polygon this August. With this new project, the renowned performer and storyteller is also entering a new world: comics.

The new Boom Studios title, written by Iyengar and drawn by artist Mari Costa, follows aimless college student Jeannie and her best friend Arno as they adventure into the Fade, a fantasy world that a million viral social media posts claim is reachable using only… well, you can see for yourself, because we have five pages from the comic below (as well as the full cover and two variant covers), courtesy of Boom Studios.
