Every movie and show coming to Netflix in October

Even with Netflix’s recommendation algorithm serving you new movies, new TV shows, and original programming tailored to your viewing habits, the streaming service’s fire hose of content makes what’s coming difficult to parse.

A lot of horror movies from the back catalogue — including Halloween (2018), Scream (2022), and It Chapter Two — arrive on Netflix just in time for Halloween! But if you prefer your October to be light on scares, don’t worry: there’s also a new season of Heartstopper. The new Ranma 1/2 anime, a Lara Croft series, and also the first season of Yellowjackets will also hit Netflix this month.

Editor’s Pick: Bridesmaids

Director: Paul Feig
Cast: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy

Bridesmaids’ hilarious ensemble cast sparkles in every minute of the movie. As I’ve grown older and been more directly involved in weddings and wedding parties and all the drama that goes along, it’s only hit harder. Maybe it’s not a quintessential October pick, but hey! I was once told that October is the new June of weddings, so maybe it is very fitting for the month.
