The World Ends With You is finally getting a second game

The Nintendo DS classic, The World Ends With You, is finally getting a second game in what appears to be a prequel called Neo: The World Ends With You.

Based on the trailer, we can see a new batch of players sucked into the Reaper’s Game, meaning that they’ll have to fight for their lives using magical pins. Most of the characters are fresh faces, with some characters that fans will recognize from the original game, like Sho Minamimoto. While he was a reaper in The World Ends With You, it seems like he’s a player in the Reaper’s Game in this title, which is why we believe this game takes place before the original.

The new main character is a blonde kid named Rindo, and similarly to the original game’s Neku, we don’t know much about him … yet.

This new game takes place in a 3D environment that still keeps the stylistic charm from the original game. You’ll be able to run around the trendy area of Shibuya as you take on challenges and beat down monsters.

Neo: The World Ends With You will be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2021.
