The Brotherhood Takes Over Fallout 76 In New Trailer

The Brotherhood of Steel is coming to Fallout 76, lore be damned, and Bethesda is sharing a new video detailing what the Steel Dawn update will bring to Appalachia.

The Brotherhood is one of my favorite parts of Fallout lore, so the retcon doesn’t bother me personally one bit. Fallout 76 is an experimental online adventure that allows creative freedom not yet seen in the franchise. With the Steel Dawn update, Bethesda is adding a beloved faction to the online world for the first time. You can check out what Steel Dawn has to offer in the video below:

So what does Steel Dawn bring to the table? According to Bethesda:

  • New Questline
    • How will you aid the Brotherhood of Steel
  • New Locations and Gear
    • New weapons and armor from The Brotherhood DLC will be available as well as new locations to explore with more from the faction
  • Season 3 Scorecard
    • Time Operative K.D Inkwell has a new quest for the Guild of Antiquities that allows players to rank up and unlock new rewards
      • New C.A.M.P rewards
      • New Allies
      • Lunchboxes
      • And More
  • C.A.M.P Shelters
    • A new underground awaits for your main C.A.M.P thanks to a new quest
  • Lite Allies
    • Two new allies will be there to help players rank up during season 3 with bonuses and unique incentives

It’s no secret that Fallout 76 had a rough launch. Even saying that is a fairly large understatement. With many feeling that the outline of a story in the vanilla game was far too sparse to be fully launched and with online-only restrictions alienating single-player only fans, it felt like the first year post-launch was back-to-back controversy.

Since then, numerous major updates have gone out, including a total overhaul. With a new story, overhauled base story, and the arrival of actual interactable NPCs, Fallout 76 finally feels like a Fallout game, which is what fans wanted from day one. Steel Dawn adds to that by including a fan-favorite faction into the game, allowing for the devs to have a little more fun with the lore since the entire premise of the game allows for that kind of freedom.

The Fallout 76: Steel Dawn update brings the Brotherhood of Steel to Appalachia on December 1 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
