Police Find No Threat At Ubisoft Montreal After Hoax Emergency Call

Ubisoft

A reported hostage situation at Ubisoft Montreal appears to have been started by a hoax emergency call. Police say “no threat has been identified for now” and have evacuated the building.

This all started local time early afternoon on Friday when news began circulating about police evacuating Montreal’s Mile-End neighbourhood.

Local outlet TVA Nouvelles said Montreal’s police service (SPVM) sent in tactical units after a 911 call. At the time of the emergency, Ubisoft employees fled to the rooftop.

Ubisoft Montreal is the studio behind the recently released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and the upcoming title Roller Champions.
