Pokémon The Movie: Secrets Of The Jungle Gets Its First English Trailer, Releases In 2021

The Pokémon Company has revealed that Pokémon The Movie: Secrets of The Jungle will release in 2021 in the west, sharing the very first English-language trailer in the process.

Secrets of the Jungle, known as Pokémon The Movie: Coco in Japan, will be the 23rd film in the regular Pokémon series and features Ash and Pikachu alongside new character, Koko. As you can see from the trailer, Koko has been raised by Pokémon in the jungle and appears to have a close bond with ‘Dada’ Zarude.

To celebrate the movie’s US release announcement, more details have been shared surrounding Zarude’s global distribution in Pokémon Sword and Shield. A distribution of a special variant of Zarude, based on the ‘Dada’ form seen in the trailer above, has also been detailed for Japan, where the film will release slightly earlier next month.

Pokémon The Movie: Secrets Of The Jungle

“Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle” tells the story of Koko, a young boy raised by Pokémon, and the creation of a new bond between humans and Pokémon. Deep in the jungle, far from any human settlement, is the Forest of Okoya—a Pokémon paradise forbidden to outsiders and protected by a strict code of rules. In this jungle lives Koko, a human boy who has been raised as a Pokémon by the Mythical Pokémon Zarude.

Koko has grown up never doubting that he is a Pokémon. But one day, a chance meeting with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with his first human friend. Is he truly a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human? When danger threatens the Forest of Okoya, the bonds between Pokémon and human—as well as the love between parent and child—will be put to the test.
