Of the many changes and improvements included in the <em>Silent Hill 2<\/em> remake, one of the most whimsical creative choices is a nod to a previous attempt to modernize<em> <\/em>the game in 2012\u2019s <em>Silent Hill HD Collection<\/em>. That collection\u2019s infamous usage of widely derided typeface Comic Sans is preserved in the <em>Silent Hill 2<\/em> remake, but as an Easter egg for the most dedicated fans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The <em>Silent Hill HD Collection<\/em> for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 had a long list of problems, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/2012\/8\/8\/3228889\/konami-cancels-plans-to-patch-buggy-silent-hill-hd-collection-on-xbox\">Konami never fully fixed<\/a>. But one of the more comical unforced errors in that collection was the sign for Silent Hill Ranch, a location discovered early in <em>Silent Hill 2<\/em>. The developers saw fit to use Comic Sans as the ranch\u2019s font of choice, a decision emblematic of the collection\u2019s sundry problems. (The original <em>Silent Hill 2<\/em> employed a simple sans-serif font for Silent Hill Ranch.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Well, Bloober Team included that infamous sign in the <em>Silent Hill 2<\/em> remake, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCKlUrYO3i9MDlL45Ia6j5EA\">YouTuber GmanLives<\/a> discovered by peeking outside of the normal boundaries of the game.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So if you clip through the ranch at the start of the Silent Hill 2 remake you can find the comic sans font sign hidden away inside. It\u2019s satisfying to know its there, nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Bloober Team\u2019s remake is full of small touches like this \u2014\u00a0changes that aren\u2019t in-your-face, but welcome additions that respect the original <em>Silent Hill 2<\/em> and small references to other Silent Hill games.
