There is so much any given player can do in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom<\/a><\/em>. You can become the architect of the world\u2019s largest bridge<\/a>, engineer crimes against Koroks<\/a>, or, if you want, you can just turn the sloping hills of Hyrule into Link\u2019s personal skate park<\/a>. It\u2019s a giant game with plenty to do, so I\u2019d forgive any player who, I don\u2019t know, just so happened to not have completed the game yet. But now, with the impending release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom<\/em><\/a>, anyone still playing Nintendo\u2019s last Zelda title might be rushing to beat the game before the next mainline Zelda game comes out<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nintendo will be releasing Echoes of Wisdom<\/em><\/a> for Nintendo Switch on Sept. 26. While some features of the game \u2014 like the fact you can play as Zelda<\/a> \u2014 have fans buzzing with excitement, some players aren\u2019t quite<\/em> ready to move on to the next Zelda game. That\u2019s because some want to make sure they beat the main storyline of Tears of the Kingdom<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The TikTok user just_jaynie shared a video on TikTok that joked about the upcoming release. The video, which as more than 15,400 views, shows sped-up footage of just_jaynie playing Tears of the Kingdom<\/em> and rushing through the fields and map to complete the game. People flooded the comment section of the video with replies about how they haven\u2019t beaten the game yet either. The top comment on the video said, \u201cthe amount of time I spent playing that game while diligently refusing to finish is staggering.\u201d Another person chimed in, \u201cSo we all didn\u2019t complete Tears of the kingdom yet,\u201d with a blushing emoji. Others talked about how they\u2019ve played as much as 90 hours of the game, but just couldn\u2019t work up the courage to go challenge Ganondorf.<\/p>\n

And TikTok commenters aren\u2019t the only people who haven\u2019t beaten the game. Some of my favorite Reddit posts in Zelda communities are the ones that talk about what people got distracted by on their way to beat Ganondorf. In this post from two months ago<\/a>, the poster talked about how they played Tears of the Kingdom<\/em> and became obsessed with it, but then just dropped the game one day. Another person in the same thread chimed in and said that they were just spending time running around collecting knickknacks to max out their armor stats<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It makes sense \u2014 sometimes you might not want to beat a game because you don\u2019t want to feel like it\u2019s done. But while a new game coming along might be the push needed to finally tie up loose ends, Tears of the Kingdom<\/em> won\u2019t disappear from the Switch\u2019s library on Sept. 26.<\/p>\n
