Why? Well, according the game&#8217;s director, things were getting &#8220;too rigid&#8221; and feel a bit &#8220;formulaic&#8221; in terms of these add-ons.<\/p>\n<p>This change comes not long after The Final Shape arrived to a pretty favourable reception back in June, but was subsequently followed by Bungie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/destiny-2-developer-bungie-lay-off-220-staff-intergrate-more-with-sony-new-playstation-studio\">laying off 220 staff<\/a> amid some other big changes. The cuts were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/destiny-2-final-shape-blockbuster-success-not-stop-bungie-layoffs\">reportedly in the works<\/a> long before that expansion arrived and couldn&#8217;t have been prevented even if it had blown away all expectations, with Bungie <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Destiny2Team\/status\/1821619810645766275\">asserting<\/a> that it was still &#8220;committed to Destiny&#8221; after them.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/bungie-sharing-details-on-destiny-2-codename-frontiers-for-its-10th-anniversary\">teased<\/a>, it&#8217;s now provided <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bungie.net\/7\/en\/News\/article\/new_frontiers\">some more info<\/a> as to what that support will look like going forwards. The big news?
