That\u2019s why we\u2019ve collected 26 titles that showcase what makes the Steam Deck so special.<\/p>\n<p>To curate the list, we\u2019ve pick games that benefit the most from the Steam Deck\u2019s special features. You will find PC exclusives, Switch games that benefit here from faster load times, and games that break apart nicely into short sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t expect to see some presumed contenders on the list. Not every game is compatible with the Steam Deck, nor is every genre a perfect match \u2014 we\u2019re looking at you, RTS games. Though it\u2019s a PC game, it feels like it\u2019s <em>meant<\/em> for the handheld gamer. There\u2019s nothing more I\u2019d like to do than curl up and play through a few day-night cycles in <em>Fields of Mistria<\/em> before bed. \u2014<em>Nicole Carpenter<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/24071913\/a-little-to-the-left-xbox-game-pass-organization-game\">A Little to the Left<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck.png\" alt=\"A level of A Little to the Left shows several food containers with different contents, lids, and labels.\" title=\"A level of A Little to the Left shows several food containers with different contents, lids, and labels.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Max Inferno\/Secret Mode\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><em>A Little to the Left, <\/em>released in 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/24071913\/a-little-to-the-left-xbox-game-pass-organization-game\">is a puzzle that\u2019s centered around organization and sorting<\/a> \u2014 pattern spotting is an essential skill for the game. It\u2019s broken up into a bunch of little levels, more than 100 of them, all of which are bite-sized bits of gameplay perfect to pick up whenever you\u2019ve got the chance. That makes it a great game for the SteamDeck: It\u2019s a good game to play during commutes, or when you might otherwise be distracted occasionally. And like <em>Fields of Mistria<\/em>, it\u2019s one of those games that are made all the more better when playing from bed or a cozy chair. \u2014<em>N. Carpenter<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/review\/24218921\/one-btn-bosses-review\">One Btn Bosses<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-2.jpg\" alt=\"A top-down look at One Btn Bosses. The simple premise is played out in small, minutes-long sessions that put you in on-rails bullet hell madness. Like <em>Vampire Survivors<\/em>, the game does the shooting for you; you control movement, dodging attacks sent right back at you while auto-firing. Just because there\u2019s only one button doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s easy, though. It takes real strategy and skill once you\u2019ve reached the higher levels of <em>One Btn Bosses<\/em>. <em>\u2014N. Carpenter<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"W5lmeP\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/24151337\/animal-well-review-pc-ps5-switch\"><strong>Animal Well<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-1.png\" alt=\"Animal Well ghost chasing the player\" title=\"Animal Well ghost chasing the player\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Billy Basso\/Bigmode via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For at least a few of the games on this list \u2014 like, say, <em>Elden Ring<\/em> \u2014 you\u2019re going to mess with the game\u2019s settings on Steam Deck in order to make sure you\u2019ve got a decent frame rate and the game feels good to play. Not a concern at all for <em>Animal Well<\/em>, a pixel-art masterpiece that feels like it could\u2019ve been at home on the Game Boy. With a file size of just 33 MB, it sure won\u2019t take long to install, either. But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/24151337\/animal-well-review-pc-ps5-switch\"><em>Animal Well<\/em><\/a> packs quite a bit of mystery and time-intensive puzzle-solving into its very small package. What starts off as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/24156522\/animal-well-metroidvania-not\">compelling Metroidvania<\/a> soon spirals into an extensive Easter egg hunt with items hidden behind delightfully esoteric clues. Nine hours later, I finally managed to wrest myself from the siren-like call of its pixelated tableaus, blistering combat, and melancholic score, having completed it again and earned the game\u2019s secret ending. Such is the magnetic appeal and power of Heart Machine\u2019s debut even eight years after its release.<\/p>\n<p>Game director Alx Preston and co. set out to create a 16-bit action-RPG that channeled the very best elements of the Legend of Zelda and Diablo series, with a story not so much told as it is <em>felt<\/em> through its dialogue-less cutscenes that play out as if they were fugue-like visions of some doomed alternate universe. <em>Hyper Light Drifter<\/em> achieved all of that and more, coalescing into an action-RPG that stands the test of time. <em>\u2014Toussaint Egan<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"sYfwZh\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/2017\/1\/19\/14193836\/yakuza-0-review-ps4-playstation-4-sega-atlus\"><strong>Yakuza 0<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-4.jpg\" alt=\"Kiryu stands in a store full of TVs and ramen containers in Yakuza 0.\" title=\"Kiryu stands in a store full of TVs and ramen containers in Yakuza 0.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Sega via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Yakuza series spans hundreds of hours across seven mainline entries, along with a handful of spinoffs. Which is to say, the portable Steam Deck provides the best chance at seeing the entirety of this Japanese gangster epic, especially in the form of short missions on lunch breaks. If you don\u2019t have time for every game, or just need a place to start, we recommend <em>Yakuza 0<\/em>. A sort of prequel to the series, the adventure takes place in 1980s Japan and provides lots of colorful backstories. Don\u2019t be fooled by all of the violent combat and seedy locales; this series (and especially this entry) has more heart and joy than 99% of games from big-budget publishers. Hero Kazuma Kiryu wants to make the world a better place, one city block at a time. <em>\u2014Chris Plante<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"RSw1sp\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/23298775\/cult-of-the-lamb-review-roguelike-action-adventure-rpg-devolver-digital\"><strong>Cult of the Lamb<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-2.png\" alt=\"The lamb preaches a sermon in Cult of the Lamb\" title=\"The lamb preaches a sermon in Cult of the Lamb\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Massive Monster\/Devolver Digital via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Deep breath: <em>Cult of the Lamb<\/em> is Animal Crossing meets <em>Hades<\/em> meets the dark side of Catholic history meets <em>Happy Tree Friends<\/em> meets American cultism meets European occultism meets Dark Souls meets 1980s Satanic Panic meets <em>Fractured Fairy Tales<\/em> meets the waking dreams of Peter Molyneux.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Cult of the Lamb<\/em> is like a stew. If you look closely, you can spot all of these delicious individual ingredients, but when slurped from a big spoon all you\u2019ll taste is one distinct flavor. <em>\u2014CP<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7ciizj\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/23777236\/dave-the-diver-review-management-sim-steam-pc\"><strong>Dave the Diver<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-5.jpg\" alt=\"Dave the Diver underwater aiming his spearfishing harpoon at a tropical fish.\" title=\"Dave the Diver underwater aiming his spearfishing harpoon at a tropical fish.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Mintrocket via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are few mobile gaming experiences as serene and enthralling as <em>Dave the Diver<\/em>. Dave dives not just to collect fish and cooking materials for the sushi restaurant he staffs every night, but to uncover ancient secrets. Regardless of your objective, navigating the deep feels like a blend between Animal Crossing and a roguelike, where you\u2019re amassing better tools to uncover what (and who) is lurking in the depths.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dave the Diver<\/em> is a family-friendly game (if you can look past small clouds of blood when you harpoon a fish) that is startlingly good at blending many game genres in one. You swim; manage a restaurant; farm fish, veggies and more; and are solely responsible for reversing a climate change-inducing threat under the sea. And on the Steam Deck, it\u2019s so much easier to fit in just one more dive session. <em>\u2014Cameron Faulkner<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"rsRb0l\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/23669611\/dredge-review-fishing-game-horror\"><strong>Dredge<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-3.png\" alt=\"A small fishing boat pulled up on an island in Dredge.\" title=\"A small fishing boat pulled up on an island in Dredge.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Black Salt Games\/Team17\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You might not expect <em>Dredge<\/em> to feel at home on the Steam Deck at first glance, but it totally does. This haunted seafaring adventure tests the protagonist\u2019s psyche, and the gameplay loop is perfect for quick pick-up, put-down sessions. Not to mention, it\u2019s a lot of fun being set free to fish, solve mysteries, and complete objectives before the sun goes down. And if you dare, dredge the depths after dark for some spooky surprises. <em>\u2014CF<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"VaMZcU\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/23435089\/best-time-loop-game-i-was-a-teenage-exocolonist-review\"><strong>I Was a Teenage Exocolonist<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-6.jpg\" alt=\"A card game with a hand made of cards in yellow, blue, and red from the video game I Was a Teenage Exocolonist. You take on the role of a young kid in Earth\u2019s first planetary colony, and follow their life on a strange new alien planet over the course of 10 years. Every activity you pick impacts your personal journey and the relationships you make \u2014 and also plays a huge role in the future of the planet.<\/p>\n<p>What really makes&nbsp;<em>I Was a Teenage Exocolonist<\/em>&nbsp;so compelling is the replayability \u2014 finishing a playthrough gives you knowledge that you take through to the next, allowing you to make different (and possibly better!) decisions. For instance, there\u2019s a character who dies very early on in the first playthrough that can\u2019t be saved at all. Their death haunts that first run.<\/p>\n<p>But in the second one, you can save them because you have a hunch as to how things will go. It\u2019s a game that invites you to play through another round and another and another \u2014 just to see if you can get it&nbsp;<em>all<\/em>&nbsp;right this time (or make things go horribly wrong! Or crack the secret as to&nbsp;<em>why<\/em>&nbsp;you\u2019re living these lives over and over again!). \u2014<em>Petrana Radulovic<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"0DYuoh\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/ex-zodiac-could-almost-pass-for-a-lost-90s-star-fox\/\"><strong>Ex-Zodiac<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-7.jpg\" alt=\"A spaceship attacks a pyramid in Ex-Zodiac\" title=\"A spaceship attacks a pyramid in Ex-Zodiac\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: MNKY\/PixelJam via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My love for the Star Fox series has evaporated with each new entry, to the point that I began to wonder if I ever really enjoyed those games or if I just liked chunky \u201990s 3D graphics. <em>Ex-Zodiac<\/em>\u2019s creators have done what Nintendo couldn\u2019t for the past couple of decades: bottle the original magic of the space flight franchise and add just enough tweaks to make the adventure palatable for our collective evolved tastes. (Hey, video games have come a long way since the SNES!) Developer MNKY also created bonus levels inspired by other retro classics, like <em>Space Harrier<\/em>, emphasizing its knack for refueling once exciting genres that have spent way too long collecting dust in the garage. <em>\u2014CP<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"x5FJHu\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/23268326\/stray-review-cat-game-ps4-ps5-windows-pc-cyberpunk\"><strong>Stray<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-8.jpg\" alt=\"A cat walks the wet, neon-lit streets of a walled cybercity in Stray.\" title=\"A cat walks the wet, neon-lit streets of a walled cybercity in Stray.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: BlueTwelve Studio\/Annapurna Interactive\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stray is a game about being a cat. You don\u2019t talk like Garfield or wink at the camera like Bubsy. You stretch, scratch, and occasionally leap between ledges at perilous heights. Your cat participates in a harrowing adventure set in a dystopian, cyberpunk underworld in which robots echo the lives of their long-dead human counterparts. But most engagement happens on your behalf through an adorable, English-speaking, artificially intelligent drone named B-12. The game\u2019s creators keep your cat\u2019s direct involvement ambiguous. Is the cat the savior of a dying planet? Or is the cat just a cat who happens to be the incidental shepherd of historic change? The latest big update adds so much to the already robust game, fleshing out Pelican Town and its inhabitants. It\u2019s not just farming, but mining, fishing, foraging, and getting to know all the townspeople (and possibly marrying them). Rebuild your little community and get really invested in perfecting your farm\u2019s layout! Or travel to the deepest, darkest levels of the mines. Or just spend a&nbsp;<em>lot<\/em>&nbsp;of time fishing.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s just&nbsp;<em>so<\/em>&nbsp;much to do in <em>Stardew Valley<\/em>. It\u2019s clear to see why this game revitalized the farming sim genre and why every farming sim these days wants to be just like it (with a twist). \u2014<em>PR<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"VLmVEm\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/drainus-review-the-most-spectacular-side-scrolling-shooter-since-gradius-5\"><strong>Drainus<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-10.jpg\" alt=\"A tiny ship somehow fights a much, much, much larger spacecraft in Drainus.\" title=\"A tiny ship somehow fights a much, much, much larger spacecraft in Drainus.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Team Ladybug\/WSS playground, PLAYISM via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I am proud of the work we do at Polygon, but every publication has its weaknesses. I\u2019ve accepted that we\u2019re not the go-to experts for old-school side-scrolling shooters and shmups. That honor goes to our pals at Eurogamer, specifically Martin Robinson, who I trust more with this genre than I do any pundit with American politics. When he proclaimed <em>Drainus<\/em> is \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/drainus-review-the-most-spectacular-side-scrolling-shooter-since-gradius-5\">the most spectacular side-scrolling shooter since <em>Gradius 5<\/em><\/a>,\u201d I had to give it a try. Is it the best? I said I\u2019m not an expert. Runs take 10-30 minutes and pair well with an audiobook or podcast. The post-apocalyptic fantasy climbing game from French developer Don\u2019t Nod (<em>Life Is Strange<\/em>) has a lot going for it: a mysterious and compelling world with beautiful art design, a moving orchestral music score, and tight controls that are easy to learn and gratifying to master.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that last point that makes the Steam Deck my preferred platform of choice to play <em>Jusant<\/em>. The satisfying sound and haptic feedback of the Deck\u2019s left and right triggers makes the challenge of climbing the cliff faces of the game\u2019s impossibly vast and looming tower as painless and pleasing as possible, and the visual and sound quality of the Deck is terrific at rendering the gorgeous vistas and ambient soundscapes of the world. The JRPG to end all JRPGs first launched in 2018 on Steam and PlayStation 4, only to be bested a year later by a Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch, which included additional content and could be played on the go. The Definitive Edition then came to Steam in 2020, but, of course, it lacked the portability of the Switch version, forcing players to choose between visuals and convenience. This spooky, rather mature episodic visual novel is tough to put down, especially when you begin to uncover how it progresses.<\/p>\n<p>You assume the role of multiple characters, who are all trying to survive a supernatural cataclysm that\u2019s out for everyone\u2019s soul. The story is told to make you care about each one of them, not knowing who\u2019s about to bite the dust at the next turn of events. <em>\u2014CF<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"8QWJ6f\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/2018\/3\/29\/17176204\/red-faction-guerrilla-remaster-ps4-xbox-one-pc-thq-nordic\"><strong>Red Faction: Guerrilla<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-16.jpg\" alt=\"Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Edition - Alec Mason standing as vehicles explode behind him.\" title=\"Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Edition - Alec Mason standing as vehicles explode behind him.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Volition, Kaiko\/THQ Nordic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2009, Volition created an open-world terrorism simulator set on Mars. With a hammer and construction-grade explosives, a bald space bro destroys landmarks, government office complexes, and mining facilities piece by piece. Where its open-world peers focused on realism and narrative, Red Faction emphasized chaotic fun. Publisher THQ planned to convert Red Faction into a \u201ctransmedia\u201d property, but little materialized beyond a mediocre sequel and a made-for-TV movie. The closest we\u2019ve seen to a spiritual sequel is 2020\u2019s <em>Teardown<\/em>, an indie heist game that invites players to bust through buildings made of chunky voxels. Speaking of, I should install <em>Teardown<\/em> on my Steam Deck. <em>\u2014CP<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"SZeC6V\"><strong>Zero Escape: The Nonary Games<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-17.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of a character conversation from Zero Escape: The Nonary Games.\" title=\"Screenshot of a character conversation from Zero Escape: The Nonary Games.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Spike Chunsoft Co.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors<\/em> and <em>Zero Escape: Virtue\u2019s Last Reward <\/em>were two of the most beloved visual novels on the Nintendo DS, 3DS, and PlayStation Vita. Unfortunately, Nintendo and Sony no longer support the DS and Vita online shops, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/22937165\/nintendo-wii-u-3ds-eshop-closing-date-virtual-console\">the 3DS online storefront will close in 2023<\/a>. Meanwhile, <em>The Nonary Games<\/em>, which bundles the two titles, remains just as available today as it did when it launched on Steam in 2017, with no threat of disappearing anytime soon. <em>\u2014CP<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"0ni4rU\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/2019\/11\/8\/20953893\/spelunky-most-important-game-of-the-decade-2010\"><strong>Spelunky and Spelunky 2<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-18.jpg\" alt=\"In Spelunky 2 two players ride steeds across platforms above an area covered in spikes.\" title=\"In Spelunky 2 two players ride steeds across platforms above an area covered in spikes.\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Mossmouth, Blitworks\/Mossmouth\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Spelunky HD<\/em> kept my PlayStation Vita within arm\u2019s reach long after Sony gave up on the cult handheld. Last year, developer Mossmouth ported <em>Spelunky <\/em>and its sequel to the Nintendo Switch \u2014 and I finally moved my Vita into its long-term home in my storage bin of gaming artifacts. I won\u2019t say the Steam Deck is a better home for Spelunky than the Switch, just that it\u2019s another portable home. And any portable that can play Spelunky should play Spelunky. <em>\u2014CP<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"CziGry\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/22638600\/wildermyth-review-pc-proc-gen-worldwalker-games-strategy-mac-linux\"><strong>Wildermyth<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-19.jpg\" alt=\"A hunter lines up a shot in Wildermyth\u2019s tactical combat\" title=\"A hunter lines up a shot in Wildermyth\u2019s tactical combat\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Worldwalker Games\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Wildermyth<\/em> made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/c\/22796149\/50-best-video-games-of-2021-polygon-goty\">Polygon\u2019s top 10 games of 2021<\/a> list by reimagining the D&amp;D experience without the need for a part-time Dungeon Master. The combat is clever enough (your magic can convert any object into a deadly weapon), but I especially cherish its creator\u2019s dedication to characters. Party members find lovers and nemeses, they acquire weapons and battle scars, they age and eventually die. Quests are broken into 10- to 15-minute episodes of story and combat, ideal for filling any gaps in your day. The controls on Steam Deck do take a little practice, but the game has benefited from an active community of modders and storytellers, so&nbsp;I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if we see improved user-made control settings soon. <em>\u2014CP<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"72egKa\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/2018\/7\/4\/17531882\/red-faction-guerrilla-remarstered-remastered-podcast-quality-control\"><strong>Half-Life 2<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/26-games-we-love-on-steam-deck-20.jpg\" alt=\"Gordon Freeman gets a warm welcome from friends in Half-Life 2\" title=\"Gordon Freeman gets a warm welcome from friends in Half-Life 2\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Valve via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2004,<em> Half-Life 2<\/em> helped launch Steam, attracting thousands of players to Valve\u2019s then-unproven video game ecosystem. But you do make the world a little more manageable for you and other players, slowly building bridges, roads, and ladders that will inevitably be destroyed by nature. Where other games ask you to become the ruler of their world, <em>Death Stranding<\/em> reminds you that we are all merely tourists awaiting our one-way flight off of this rock. Did I mention the poop grenades?<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-end-mark\">Plenty of folks didn\u2019t give the game a shot on PlayStation 4 or PC.
