Sony\u2019s plans to release a deluxe version of its PS5 have been reported for the past six months, thanks to insights from analysts<\/a> and leaks from developer documentation<\/a>. The PS5 Pro\u2019s reported technical specifications point to an upgraded console that will deliver superb image quality in 4K resolution, with better ray-tracing features. The console will offer smoother, more consistent performance, especially when plugged into a variable refresh rate display, based on those specs.<\/p>\n

Sony recently teased the PS5 Pro<\/a> in artwork released for PlayStation\u2019s 30th anniversary.<\/p>\n

The PS5 Pro would seem to follow Sony\u2019s playbook from 2016, when it launched the PlayStation 4 Pro<\/a> \u2014\u00a0an upgraded version of the PlayStation 4 with a new chassis and a boost in performance that targeted 4K output. One important unknown remains about the PS5 Pro ahead of its reveal: How much it will cost. Sony\u2019s current PS5 launched in 2020 at two price points: a standard edition with a Blu-ray disc drive for $499.99 and a PS5 Digital Edition for $399.99. Sony has since raised the price of the Digital Edition to $449.99<\/a>.<\/p>\n
