Apparently, there\u2019s an animated Twilight<\/a> TV show on the way \u2014 but there\u2019s a twist.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Netflix announced on Wednesday<\/a> that it\u2019s working to adapt Midnight Sun<\/a><\/em>, the Twilight novel written from the point of view of vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen, played in the live-action movie series by Robert Pattinson. This book, where Edward chronicles his perspective on his romance with human paramour Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart in the movies) is a particularly infamous part of the Twilight story: The first 12 chapters of the manuscript leaked online in 2008, ahead of publication, and author Stephenie Meyer was so annoyed by the experience<\/a> that she posted those chapters online herself, declaring that she wouldn\u2019t finish the book. She eventually changed her mind, and the actual official Midnight Sun<\/em> novel was released in 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the interim, she also wrote and released Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined,<\/em> a gender-swapped version of Twilight<\/em>. Where\u2019s that<\/em> animated series, Netflix?\u00a0<\/p>\n

This upcoming Netflix show is not to be confused with the previously announced Twilight series<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Meyer is slated as one of the executive producers on the project. Sinead Daly (Tell Me Lies<\/em>) will executive produce and write the series. There\u2019s no further casting information, release date, or details on what studio will be tapped to produce the animation. But one thing\u2019s of the utmost importance: Animated Edward<\/a> has really gotta sparkle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
