Well, well, well. Looks like Zelda will<\/em> fight with a sword<\/a> after all in her upcoming game, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom<\/a><\/em>. But like all things Nintendo does, Zelda\u2019s use of sword and shield in Echoes of Wisdom<\/em> comes with a twist. <\/p>\n

A new trailer for Echoes of Wisdom<\/em> released Friday reveals that, in addition to her copy and bind powers, Zelda can also call upon the power of a swordfighter. In practice, this ability basically gives Zelda the sword-fighting prowess of Link; she can slash, spin, and guard while in swordfighter form, but only for limited periods.<\/p>\n

Zelda\u2019s primary weapon in Echoes of Wisdom<\/em> is her Tri Rod. That tool lets the princess make copies of objects and enemies, then deploy those copies as \u201cechoes\u201d to battle other enemies, solve puzzles, and traverse Hyrule and its dungeons. Like recent Zelda games starring Link (Breath of the Wild<\/a><\/em>, Tears of the Kingdom<\/a><\/em>), player creativity and ingenuity will be key to solving the princess\u2019 problems \u2014 like dealing with those nasty mystical rifts that are tearing Hyrule apart.<\/p>\n

Does Zelda have even more secrets up her sleeve? We\u2019ll all find out when The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom<\/em> is released for Nintendo Switch on Sept. 26.<\/p>\n
