It\u2019s a survival MMO game set in the desert world of Arrakis and its larger sci-fi universe. So far, it\u2019s looking like a sleek, but gritty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/24078649\/dune-2-review-release-date-cast-zendaya-denis-villeneuve-part-two\">take on <em>Dune<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>that\u2019s all about working your way up the ladder of the world and fighting off other players for spice and other resources.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-vox-media-highlight vox-media-highlight\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/the-dune-mmo-sure-looks-like-a-worm-eat-worm-world-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/> <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><em>Check out Polygon\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gamescom\/440839\/gamescom-2024-everything-announced\">Gamescom 2024 hub page<\/a>\u00a0for all our coverage of the world\u2019s biggest games event.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">According to the trailer, <em>Dune: Awakening<\/em> is coming to Windows PC in early 2025 and will get release dates for PlayStation and Xbox consoles later down the line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">As shown in the presentation, you start as a nameless poisoner who must survive the scorching dessert heat and monstrous sand worms. The stream showed a scenario where a player made a deal to help another person take out a rival encampment in exchange for some vital resources in the early game. Once you establish a rapport with people, you can form a group and build a base of your own design and craft tech that allows you to drink the blood of your enemies \u2014 yummy! After that, your group can even form a guild and you can pledge your allegiance to one of the three houses of <em>Dune<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Just like with anything Dune, spice is the name of the game. It\u2019s a precious commodity and the key to power in the larger world of the game. Because of this, you\u2019ll be constantly at war with hundreds of other players as everyone fights over spice.
