Indiana Jones and the Great Circle<\/a><\/em> will debut on Xbox, but the adventure game will also make its way to PlayStation 5. Bethesda confirmed at Gamescom 2024<\/a> that the game is set to launch on Dec. 9 for Xbox and PC, followed by a PlayStation 5 release in spring.<\/p>\n

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle<\/em> looks like a faithful tribute to the classic movies, while still managing to have its own distinct identity as a game. While the Gamescom trailer shows off lots of dialogue, there\u2019s still a good look at the game\u2019s hand-to-hand combat system, and classic tools like Jones\u2019 whip and revolver.<\/p>\n

The Verge reported that Bethesda and Microsoft<\/a> were considering a PlayStation 5 port of the game in February. The Indiana Jones movies famously inspired the Uncharted franchise, one of the most successful of PlayStation\u2019s original intellectual properties. It seems appropriate to have an Indiana Jones game come to PlayStation to serve as a stand-in for fans who are yearning for a new Uncharted adventure.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first game to make its way from a first-party Xbox developer over to PlayStation 5. Sea of Thieves<\/a><\/em>, Grounded<\/em>,<\/a> Pentiment<\/a><\/em>, and Hi-Fi Rush<\/a><\/em> all began as Xbox exclusives, but were released on Sony\u2019s console. Doom: The Dark Ages<\/a><\/em>, another upcoming Bethesda title, will also be ported to PlayStation 5. Exclusivity on consoles was one of the sticking points in Microsoft\u2019s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard in 2023<\/a>, with exclusivity over games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle<\/em> and the Call of Duty franchise being a point of contention.<\/p>\n
