Even the recommended spec isn&apos;t excessively demanding, although it&apos;s interesting that it targets just 60 fps at 1920&#215;1080. But even at that, he noted at the time, &#8220;Space Marine 2 is still a treat to look at,&#8221; with an &#8220;almost candy-like look of a well-painted plastic miniature impersonating metal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The combat at the time, alas, was somewhat less impressive, which ultimately led to a <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/space-marine-2-gets-a-new-release-date-thats-only-276-days-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">delay<\/a> that ate up the better part of a year and, earlier this year, the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/third-person-shooter\/space-marine-2-public-beta-test-is-cancelled-so-developers-can-focus-on-optimization-polish-and-fixing-remaining-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cancellation of a planned public beta test<\/a> so developers could focus on &#8220;optimization, polish and fixing remaining issues&#8221; instead. Whether that was time well spent remains to be seen, but we sure liked the look of the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/action\/i-cannot-get-enough-of-the-space-marine-2-videos-with-all-them-swarming-tyranids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most recent trailer<\/a>, a grandiose showcase of evil space bugs getting squashed by giant space zealots.<\/p>\n<p>Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 comes out on September 9 and will be available for PC on <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/2183900\/Warhammer_40000_Space_Marine_2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steam<\/a> and the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/store.epicgames.com\/en-US\/p\/warhammer-40000-space-marine-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Epic Games Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/third-person-shooter\/warhammer-40000-space-marine-2-system-requirements-are-out-and-you-probably-wont-need-to-buy-a-new-pc-to-play-it\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After what could fairly be called a bumpy ride to the finish line, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now just a month away from release, and that puts it close enough that we can finally lay our eyes on the official system requirements.
