And while football fans everywhere will be preparing for the monumental clash between Tom Brady\u2019s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Patrick Mahomes\u2019 Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/opinion\/2020\/04\/22\/rocket-league-is-the-right-game-for-right-now\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rocket League<\/a> players are getting their own chance to run (or, in this case, drive) to daylight.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>The upcoming Super Bowl LV Celebration is an in-game event where Rocket League players can live out their football fantasies in small teams while still playing within the confines of the popular video game\u2019s quirky ruleset and mechanics. The new game mode coming alongside the Celebration is called Gridiron. A <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.playstation.com\/2021\/01\/28\/get-ready-for-the-nfl-super-bowl-lv-celebration-in-rocket-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent post<\/a> on the Official PlayStation Blog goes into detail on how Gridiron is played but you can also read the list of rules below:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The standard Rocket League ball has been replaced with an American football in this 4v4 mode.<\/li>\n<li>Touching the ball attaches it to the roof of your car.<\/li>\n<li>If any player touches the ball, that player becomes the ball carrier, setting up the opportunity for hand-offs to teammates or steals by the other team.<\/li>\n<li>The carrier can single jump, but double jumping drops the ball. You can also pass the ball by dodging.<\/li>\n<li>Each goal is 3 or 7 points: 7 points are awarded if the ball is attached to a player when entering the opponent\u2019s goal, and 3 points are awarded if the ball is passed in or if the ball is loose. All own-goals are worth 3 points whether the ball is attached or it\u2019s loose.<\/li>\n<li>Demos require Supersonic speed just like in standard modes.<\/li>\n<li>Stay in bounds! You\u2019ll fumble the ball if you cross the line marked on the Arena wall.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><span>Champion\u2019s Field has also been replaced with a full-fledged football arena &#8211; hash marks, NFL logos, the whole nine yards, so to speak. Additionally, three Super Bowl LV Celebration challenges are being added for bonus experience points and exclusive cosmetics. You can also access the NFL Fan Pack again to purchase favorite football teams skins for your vehicle.
