But it seems the well of inspiration never runs dry for players facing down a global pandemic and taking solace in the cozy, safe world of New Horizons.<\/p>\n

This week, we saw a particularly inspired design by Skidmore101<\/a> on Reddit, showing off an impressive take on Swedish furniture giant IKEA via the Nintendo Switch game.<\/p>\n

The Redditor posted their take on an IKEA store (which, by all accounts, appear to be pretty similar whether you’re in Europe, Asia, or the Americas) including a one-way map, food market, showrooms, and an area dedicated to picking up your flat-packed goods.<\/p>\n

Was the player inspired by the fact that IKEA plans to introduce a line of gamer-specific furniture<\/a> in the coming months and years? It’s hard to say, but in a world where a lot of people are still forced to stay at home as the Covid-19 pandemic continues, having this kind of retail escapism is quite comforting.<\/p>\n
