Valve has created some incredible games, most notably the Portal, Half-Life, Team Fortress, and Left 4 Dead franchises. With Half-Life: Alyx and Artifact heralding in a return to game dev<\/a>, Valve CEO Gabe Newell confirms that the company has “several” new titles in development at this time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Newell sat down with the folks at 1 News<\/em> to talk about what’s currently coming down the pipeline for the company outside of being a viable storefront for PC gamers. In the interview, Newell addressed Alyx and mentioned that the company is looking to do more single-player games<\/a> in the future. He added\u00a0that Alyx “created a lot of momentum inside of the company to do more of that” in terms of single-player narratives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In true Newell fashion, there was no confirmation about a possible continuation of franchises like Portal and Half-Life. Instead, he added, \u201cI\u2019ve successfully not spoken about those things for a long time and I hope to continue to not talk about them until they are moot questions. Then we\u2019ll move on to a new set of questions,\u201d Newell said. Valve was recently rumored to be working on a title code-named \u201cCitadel,\u201d but Newell was quick to end that conversation when asked as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a bunch of code names \u2014 are you referring to a code name?\u201d said Newell. \u201cI don\u2019t know what \u2018Citadel\u2019 is \u2014 what is Citadel? Just to be clear \u2014 internally we have a bunch of different names and they change over time.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then confirmed that the company is actively working on several games <\/a>at this time and that he hopes to have more to reveal soon, though what those titles will have to offer still remains a mystery.\u00a0<\/p>\n
