Turns out it could&apos;ve been even better if you bought it on the\u2014checking my notes here\u2014Epic Games Store. Wait, really?<\/p>\n<p>As spotted by several players, the remaster appears to have two different versions\u2014the one available on Steam\/GOG, and the one available on the Epic Games Store (thanks, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/tomb-raider-1-3-remastered-more-polished-on-epic-game-store-fans-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurogamer<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This was initially discovered by one <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EJe2NIGdTdM&#038;t=1s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maciej Wy\u017cgowski on YouTube<\/a>, who posted a video sweetly titled: &#8220;Instead of the ceiling I have such a beautiful view&#8221;\u2014their version of the Palace Midas level was missing its roof. This was then picked up by Twitter user <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kroft_k\/status\/1761873149535101345\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kroft_k<\/a>, which prompted a channel called Small Medipack to investigate.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/small_medipack\/status\/1762242732301427179\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ongoing thread<\/a> documenting the differences, Small Medipack found that the Epic Games version has a whopping 21 photo mode poses, updated textures, better snowflakes, improved water\u2014the whole nine yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They also shared a video from YouTuber <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dOfW62cehu0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the sog<\/a>, who made a direct comparison in the game&apos;s Greece levels. As you can see for yourself, the differences in lighting are pretty stark\u2014with several areas having a completely changed atmosphere.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-video\" data-nosnippet >\n<div class=\"video-aspect-box\"><iframe data-lazy-priority=\"low\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dOfW62cehu0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Players on the game&apos;s official Discord also grew wise. As if to prove they weren&apos;t just all hallucinating, one player even directly ported their Steam save over to Epic Games. In the original game, you&apos;d get to this stage by finding every secret in the game. The same is true here\u2014unless you&apos;re playing on Steam or GOG, that is.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-video\" data-nosnippet >\n<div class=\"video-aspect-box\"><iframe data-lazy-priority=\"low\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OZUefmePcw8\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The only downside to the Epic Games version of the remaster right now? <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/small_medipack\/status\/1762248553919828394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Achievements are busted<\/a>. That&apos;s it. \u00a0I&apos;ve gone ahead and reached out to the game&apos;s publisher Aspyr for comment, and I&apos;ll update this article if I get a response\u2014but this kind of thing isn&apos;t <em>unheard <\/em>of.
