With the recent Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 1<\/a> and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater<\/a>, Hideo Kojima’s iconic tactical espionage action franchise has been on our minds. And miraculously, somehow, across approximately 588 episodes of Replay<\/a>, we have never revisited Metal Gear Solid. This week I am happy to correct that monumental mistake.<\/p>\n

We will get back to Majora’s Mask soon (Marcus is out on assignment this week) but we took that opportunity to revisit one of, if not the, best PlayStation games with Metal Gear Solid. It just so happens that Alex Van Aken is playing through the game for fun, so I asked him if we could just jump into his save for an hour. And you know what? It just so happened to be one of the best hours of the whole game. Alex takes out Liquid Snake in the HIND, meets the invisible overweight soldiers, and defeats Sniper Wolf. It’s a fantastic snapshot of a fantastic game.<\/p>\n
