So in every new server or co-op world you join, you&apos;ll have a separate character with their own progression. Pocketpair does say that it plans to have a &#8220;server\/save transfer method later on during development,&#8221; so that may change eventually.<\/p>\n<p>To host a local co-op session for your friends, here&apos;s how to start:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If making a <strong>new world<\/strong>, toggle multiplayer &#8220;on&#8221; after selecting &#8220;Create new world&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>If using an <strong>existing world<\/strong>, press &#8220;Change world settings&#8221; before starting your game, and toggle multiplayer on<\/li>\n<li>Once you&#8217;re in your world, open the options menu accessed by <strong>pressing ESC<\/strong> to find the invite code<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To join a friend&apos;s multiplayer world, you can use that invite code in the &#8220;Join multiplayer game (invite code)&#8221; portion of the main menu. From there you&apos;ll enter character creation if it&apos;s a world you&apos;ve not played in yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You can also select &#8220;Join multiplayer game&#8221; to hop onto a public community server, though connecting to those isn&apos;t always guaranteed to work and may include long load times. When playing co-op in Palworld, you can do a lot to share resources with other players, particularly if you have them join your guild. You will automatically have a guild when starting a game and can add players who&apos;ve joined your world in the &#8220;guild&#8221; section of the menu. This affects what they can and can&apos;t do in your multiplayer session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Players not in your guild:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cannot open your storage chests<\/li>\n<li>Cannot interact with your pals or work sites<\/li>\n<li>Cannot catch or steal your pals<\/li>\n<li>Can <strong>establish their own bases<\/strong> and catch\/fight wild Pals<\/li>\n<li>Can gather resources and pick up items you&#8217;ve dropped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Players who are in your guild:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can use your crafting tables and work sites<\/li>\n<li>Can access your storage chests (but still need a passcode for locked chests)<\/li>\n<li>Can <strong>manage your Palbox<\/strong> by assigning Pals to the base or putting them into their own party<\/li>\n<li>Can interact with Pals by picking them up or petting them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"is-there-crossplay-in-palworld-xa0-6\">Is there crossplay in Palworld?\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>At launch, there is no crossplay between the Steam and Xbox versions of Palworld.
