Part of the game\u2019s magic stems from its cryptic nature, and even the simplest things, from where to go to how to use items, can be puzzling. So, having beaten the game and uncovered many of its hidden secrets, I\u2019m ready to dish out some specially constructed hints. These spoiler-free suggestions won\u2019t rob you of the satisfaction of figuring things out for yourself but may just help you avoid pitfalls.<\/p>\n

One of the great things about Tunic is that it rewards its players for being liberal with consumables. If you have something, use it. How some things work won\u2019t be apparent until later, or until you put some pieces together, but don\u2019t stress. If you can\u2019t reveal an object\u2019s secrets immediately, just keep your eyes open for possible solutions.<\/p>\n

Also, remember to continually check back in the menu to see if you picked up something you can equip. This could help you avoid missing a critical factor, especially in later areas of the game that seem drainingly difficult.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

More often than not, you do have exactly what you need. Tunic is a game keenly aware of the medium\u2019s specific visual vocabulary, and many things should set your gaming-senses tingling \u2013 don\u2019t ignore them. For instance, this community holds specific expectations surrounding certain water features and what you should be able to do if you see one. If you find an area is just too suspicious, and you haven\u2019t found any other solution, try taking a page out of Link\u2019s playbook to combat the tricky barrier.<\/p>\n

If that doesn\u2019t work, look closely. While odd coloration keeps secrets from being obvious, wall designs are fairly regular. You\u2019ll perhaps notice that regularity is disrupted in certain places, something you\u2019ll want to investigate further. That being said, don\u2019t bog down your game by scrutinizing every partition you see. Careful, measured attacks are the name of the game here. Going in swinging away will cost you precious stamina and give enemies a chance to land a devastating blow. To avoid this, take each encounter, from common grunts to big bosses, slowly. Try to get a sense of the opponent\u2019s moveset before striking, and battles will go a lot more smoothly. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

However, there are some higher-priced reasons to keep a little bit in savings as you fight through the world. Remember to budget for the unknown.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
