The foundation for The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante<\/em> was first laid in the fall of 2018, when the game designer and educator Fyodor Slusarchuk came up with the plan to transform the real-life role-playing production, set in the realm of the Blessed Arknian Empire, into a full-fledged video game.<\/p>\n

The project would grow into a lifelong story that narrates the path of a single man born in a ruthless and unjust world. Following their alter ego from birth until true death, the player will grow up, make life-altering choices, experience exhilarating highs as well as terrifying lows, and endure social upheavals together with their character. The sheer scale of the game\u2019s core ideas dictated the choice of genre. Such a variety of events, heroes, and branching pathways for the player to take could only be brought to life in the form of a text-based, narrative-driven RPG.<\/p>\n

The universe that Sir Brante inhabits had been invented before the work on the project even began. The Blessed Arknian Empire served as the setting for an entire series of real-life and tabletop RPGs. Its culture, religion, and history have now found a new incarnation in the world of video games. This strange and ruthless realm shall become the stage on which the tragic fate of Sir Brante will unfold.<\/p>\n

This is a society where absolutism has reached its peak: the will of the ruling gods is unquestionable, and a commoner\u2019s lot is to toil away and suffer. Any transgression against the divine law entails a cruel punishment, both in life and after death. Yet even such a world cannot escape change, and the old era is poised on the verge of collapse. Growing up, your hero will inevitably play a part in these monumental events.<\/p>\n

The game takes you on an adventure that starts at the very beginning of life \u2014 a little boy born in a dangerous medieval realm, split at the seams, governed by powerful nobles, and ruled over by the all-seeing Twin Gods. Live and grow alongside Sir Brante, dictate his choices and mistakes, and see it all unfold on the enchanting pages of the protagonist’s journal.<\/p>\n

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is a narrative-driven RPG that comes to life on the pages of the protagonist's journal. Set in a ruthless world where any form of dissent is mercilessly crushed, the story follows a man who has dared to challenge the existing order. Set out on a lifelong journey and become an individual able to carve out their own destiny… But remember that freedom never comes cheap. Life in the Great Arknian Empire is harsh and its hardest Lot is yours by the circumstance of birth. You are a commoner, holding no rights and no title. To seize your fate and become the rightful heir to the legacy of the Brante family you will have to come to grips with ossified tradition and prejudice. Embarking on a life-long journey from one's birth until true death, you will have to endure great upheavals, face adversity, and make many difficult choices. Every decision will affect not only the protagonist, his family, and loved ones, but may even topple the foundation of the Empire itself. At the turn of time
\nEvery imperial citizen's life is predetermined by their estate. The deities known as the Twin Gods have bestowed this truth to the world, dividing mortals into Lots. The nobles lead and rule over others, while the clergy guides people on the one true path, and the lowborn suffer, toiling away for the glory of the Empire. You may accept your fate without question, but it is also in your power to change the cosmic order that governs all. Your choice is not an illusion
\nDivided into chapters, the game keeps track of the player's deeds, the skills they acquired, as well as other overlapping circumstances that shape a unique plotline for each playthrough. Every decision has its consequences and you will be held accountable throughout the entire journey.
