343 Industries has released new information about the Halo Infinite Battle Pass system, including how players will be able to switch between passes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a new interview with IGN<\/em><\/a>, Infinite Head of Design\u00a0Jerry Hook\u00a0and Lead Progression Designer Chris Blohm discussed how the game\u2019s approach to battle passes will work in the free-to-play multiplayer. They said it’s aimed at keeping all kinds of players returning to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to be able to say, \u2018Hey, look, when you put 10 bucks in, you keep that 10 bucks\u2019,\u201d Hooks told IGN<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s alluding to the fact that battle passes in Infinite never expire, meaning if you don\u2019t finish a given battle pass before its associated season is up, you can still work on it in the next season. According to Hook and Blohm, though, you\u2019ll only be able to work on a single battle pass at any time, so if you\u2019re working on the prior season\u2019s battle pass still, you won\u2019t be able to advance at all in the current one. However, that current one will always be available for when you\u2019re ready to tackle it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Players will be able to switch back and forth between battle passes at will, too, so which\u00a0rewards you earn and when you reward them is really up to you. If you buy a $10 battle pass, it\u2019s yours to work on forever. Another thing IGN<\/em> learned is that the battle pass seen in the recent multiplayer technical previews is not representative of what we\u2019ll see in Infinite this December.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Plus, IGN<\/em> reports that \u201cabout every quarter of the battle pass will have a legendary cosmetic in it\u201d and that \u201clegendary-rated cosmetics will be character canon-related or a new type of customization object with special attributes or effects.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
