Assassin\u2019s Creed Valhalla has made Ubisoft a lot of money.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s because it\u2019s the publisher\u2019s \u201c[second] largest profit-generating game\u201d in its entire history, and it achieved that title in less than 12 months. Curious as to what Ubisoft\u2019s biggest game of all time is? So are we, but Ubisoft doesn\u2019t mention who wears that crown in its <\/span><\/span>First-Half 2021-22 Fiscal Earnings Report<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> released today.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed Valhalla has been outperforming Assassin\u2019s Creed Odyssey across the board since its release,\u201d the fiscal report reads. \u201cThis quarter, the Siege of Paris expansion, whose creation was led by the amazing team at Ubisoft Singapore, delivered record engagement. In less than 12 months, Assassin\u2019s Creed Valhalla is already the second-largest profit-generation game in Ubisoft\u2019s history, reflecting the remarkable strength and value of the franchise.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ubisoft says more \u201cgreat new content\u201d is on the way for Valhalla\u2019s second year on the market, making special mention of content coming in the \u201csecond half of the current fiscal year.\u201d It\u2019s unclear if this content will be more in line with free DLC or paid expansions like the recent Siege of Paris.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the fiscal earnings report, Ubisoft\u2019s recently-released <\/span><\/span>Far Cry 6<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is performing quite well too. There wasn\u2019t any mention of specific sales numbers, but the publisher says playtime per player is up 25% in Far Cry 6 compared to 2018\u2019s <\/span><\/span>Far Cry 5<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cEarly sales are in line with Assassin\u2019s Creed Odyssey\u2019s solid performance, a game released in a similar timeframe,\u201d the report reads. \u201cWith an exciting post-launch plan over the coming months, Far Cry 6 is set to be a strong performer this holiday.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It seems the DLC content that’s\u00a0coming to Valhalla and Far Cry 6 will be heavily supporting Ubisoft\u2019s next fiscal year in 2022 as well because the company only name drops three games in its lineup for next year, although it does leave the door open for more.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEighty percent of Ubisoft\u2019s investments are focused on significantly expanding its premium offering for the coming years, and notably next fiscal year with the releases of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Mario + Rabbits: Sparks of Hope, Skull & Bones, and more exciting games,\u201d the report reads.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cand more exciting games\u201d part could be alluding to titles such as <\/span><\/span>Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, which was originally set to release this coming January <\/span><\/span>but has since been delayed indefinitely<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. Perhaps Ubisoft is playing it safe by not namedropping this hotly-anticipated remake in the report just in case that indefinite delay slips into 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
