It also brings a slew of changes and fixes to the Early Access title.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>\u201cWe\u2019ve had reports of paranormal activity near an old campsite,\u201d the <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/news\/app\/739630\/view\/4624626247919023465\"><span><span><span>Phasmophobia Nightmare update page<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span> reads. \u201cWe need you to investigate as soon as possible to find out the cause of the these ghostly sightings. New paranormal entities have also started to reveal themselves in several haunted locations. Be careful out there, the weather has become a lot more intense recently, and it may hinder your investigations.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/2021\/10\/26\/phasmophoia-halloween-update-adds-maple-lodge-campsite-new-difficulty-additional-ghosts\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to watch embedded media<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span><span>This is all playing on some of the Nightmare update\u2019s new features, of course. In terms of the new haunted campsite, the map is called Maple Lodge Campsite and it\u2019s a medium-sized map with picnic areas, games, multiple tents, a log cabin, and naturally, a haunted lake. Kinetic Games says Maple Lodge Campsite has \u201cmore unique objects, higher object density, and more visual detail,\u201d but that minimum specification computers should still have no problem with the map.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Kinetic Games has added a new Nightmare difficulty with this update, too. Designed for the best of the best, this mode is perfect for those seeking the most intense Phasmophobia gameplay possible. Here\u2019s what you can expect in the new mode:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ghosts will reveal one type of evidence<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>The ghost sometimes change its preferred room after moving<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>No setup time<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Shortest hunt grace period<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Long hunt duration<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Kills extend the current hunt\u2019s duration<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Sanity pills restore much less sanity<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Fuse box starts off<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Almost no hiding places<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Paranormal interference has damaged some of your monitoring equipment.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><span>Kinetic Games has also reworked its other three difficulty settings \u2013 Amateur, Intermediate, and Professional \u2013 as well. Head to the <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/news\/app\/739630\/view\/4624626247919023465\"><span><span><span>Nightmare update page<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span> for more information about those reworks.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Alongside the new difficulty and map, Kinetic Games has included a weather system.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>\u201cEach time you start a contract, the location will have different weather, adding new layers of gameplay and making each contract feel unique,\u201d the update page reads. \u201cChange in temperature will make finding the ghost\u2019s location more difficult, rain or wind will impair your hearing, and a thick fog will reduce visibility.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Here are the different types of weather you can expect: clear skies, fog, light rain, heavy rain, strong wind, and light snow.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Four new ghosts \u2013 Onryo, The Twins, Obake, and Raiju \u2013 will be taking advantage of this weather system to scare you, too. These four new ghosts have an increased chance to spawn during the Nightmare Halloween event.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Elsewhere, the update brings dozens of changes and fixes to Phasmophobia ranging from \u201cGhost hunt duration has been lowered on small and medium maps\u201d to \u201cFixed a bug where the footstep sounds would continue after you have stopped moving\u201d and more.
