Yesterday, fans began to speculate that some Fable news would be announced today after two tweets from Xbox Game Studios Publishing<\/a> seemed to tease such information. The first tweet read like this:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re excited to kick off something special tomorrow! (Just give us one more day to prepare the chickens.)\u00a0<\/span>\ud83d\udc14\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

That tweet has since been deleted, which is why it\u2019s presented as a screenshot of a Slack message above. That tweet doesn\u2019t necessarily <\/span><\/span>scream<\/span><\/span> Fable, but the mention of preparing the chickens and the chicken emoji had some Fable fans saying, \u201cmaybe \u2026\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then, Xbox Game Studios Publishing replied to its own tweet with another, now-deleted tweet that said the following:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019d call it our Fable Anniversary, but that name was already taken.<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

Ok, so that account mentioned Fable first! This furthered speculation that today\u2019s news is related to Fable. It should also be noted that these two seemingly Fable-related teases also happen to come just four days before the 13th anniversary of Fable 2, which was released on October 21, 2008.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fable game news speculation peaked at this point \u2013 a\u00a0Fable 2 Anniversary release, perhaps, or maybe a new look at Playground\u2019s upcoming Fable? \u2013 and then, later that day, the same account essentially tweeted that today\u2019s announcement is not related to \u201cany big game news.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It seems more likely, though, that the account was teasing something non-game-related to Fable, such as anniversary merchandise, and our wandering\/hopeful minds went straight to \u201cFABLE GAME PLEASE.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fair play, Xbox \u2013 we\u2019re just excited to play more Fable. Can you blame us?\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
