According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/kotaku.com\/now-there-are-three-u-s-government-groups-suing-activi-1847756366\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Kotaku<\/em> report<\/a>, the\u00a0EEOC lawsuit was recently settled.\u00a0However, more troubling monetary details have emerged.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Yesterday, Activision Blizzard released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20210927005844\/en\/Activision-Blizzard-Commits-to-Expanded-Workplace-Initiatives-Reaches-Agreement-with-the-EEOC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> confirming that an agreement was reached with the EEOC that includes \u201cdeveloping tools and training programs to assist efforts to improve workplace experiences.\u201d What does this mean? Well, moving forward, Activision Blizzard will be committing a fund of $18 million to \u201ccompensate and make amends to eligible claimants.\u201d Any additional monies will be\u00a0dispersed to charities that defend and support women in the games industry and\u00a0initiatives that advocate for workplace diversity. A third-party equal opportunity consultant is also slated to report back to the publisher\u2019s Board of Directors alongside the EEOC regarding the execution of these\u00a0programs. I am sorry that anyone had to experience inappropriate conduct, and I remain unwavering in my commitment to make Activision Blizzard one of the world\u2019s most inclusive, respected, and respectful workplaces. We will continue to be vigilant in our commitment to the elimination of harassment and discrimination in the workplace.
