We first played through this dark story in NetherRealm&#8217;s fighting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/games\/injustice_2\/b\/playstation4\/archive\/2017\/05\/15\/injustice-2-review.aspx\">game<\/a> series and then read an expanded version of it in DC&#8217;s limited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/b\/news\/archive\/2012\/10\/06\/injustice-gods-among-us-comic-book-on-the-way.aspx\">comic book<\/a> run. On October 19, you&#8217;ll be able to watch heroes try to stop the Kryptonian god through the release of the <em>Injustice<\/em> animated film on UHD, Blu-ray, and through various digital streaming portals.<\/p>\n<p>A few days prior to release, DC is debuting footage at this year&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/2021\/08\/31\/gotham-knights-and-suicide-squad-to-be-shown-at-dc-fandome-2021\">DC FanDome livestream event<\/a>, which will also give us deeper looks at the forthcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/2021\/03\/19\/gotham-knights-game-delayed-to-2022\">Gotham Knights<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/product\/suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league\">Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League<\/a> games \u2013 both are just as dark in tone as <em>Injustice<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This animated film is directed by Matt Peters (J<em>ustice League Dark: Apokolips War<\/em>) with a screenplay by Ernie Altbacker (<em>Batman: Hush<\/em>). Animation has turned many of DC Comics&#8217; beloved stories into movies, and it&#8217;s great to see Injustice getting the respect it deserves. This studio is also making new animated films based on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/2021\/07\/01\/mortal-kombat-legends-battle-of-the-realms-trailer-revealed-ahead-of-august-release\">Mortal Kombat<\/a>.
